Adam Zampa has withdrawn from the IPL due to personal reasons, announced abruptly. Despite being retained by the Rajasthan Royals before December’s auction in Dubai on a contract valued at INR 1.5 crore (approximately A$273,000), Zampa’s manager confirmed to a leading news portal that he will not participate in IPL 2024.
With a young family at home and a hectic recent schedule, including participation in the BBL and Australia’s white-ball series against India, West Indies, and New Zealand since the conclusion of last year’s ODI World Cup in India, Zampa cited personal reasons for his decision.
In addition to Zampa’s departure, the Royals have also suffered the loss of Prasidh Krishna from their bowling lineup in recent weeks, as he was ruled out for the season following quadriceps surgery. This prompted Manoj Badale, co-owner of the Royals, to emphasize the importance of closer collaboration between franchises and the BCCI’s medical department. Badale expressed frustration at the absence of Prasidh Krishna for another season and stressed the need for enhanced collaboration with the BCCI’s medical team.
