Just after the big announcement of the Modi government implementing CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) on Monday (March 11th) after more than 4 years of the introduction of the bill, the national capital New Delhi in on alert.
Officials stated that security measures have been intensified in northeast Delhi, Shaheen Bagh, Jamia, and other sensitive zones across the national capital subsequent to the announcement of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA).
They mentioned the deployment of police officers and paramilitary forces in various areas, with flag marches conducted in parts of northeast and southeast Delhi.
To let you know that in 2022 when the government introduced the bill the national capital- Delhi witnessed communal riots in 2020 over the CAA and NRC (National Register of Citizens) that continued for months.
