As political parties gear up for the upcoming Lok Sabha election, a significant number of residents in Noida and Greater Noida have initiated a campaign stating that they will refrain from voting unless the local authorities ensure the registration of the flats they purchased with their hard-earned money.
Posters displaying the message ‘No Registry, No Vote’ have appeared on gates and walls across various apartment complexes. Some posters also address local BJP MP and former Union minister Dr Mahesh Sharma, urging his involvement in resolving the issue.
Several residential complexes, including Gardenia Glory in Sector 46, Noida, Futec Gateway in Sector 75, and Himalayan Pride, Nirala Greens, and Nirala Global in Greater Noida West, have seen an increase in protests.
Several victims claim that the registration of flats in one tower of his apartment complex has been pending for two years, expressing frustration at the continuous visits to the builder’s office.
The protests have achieved some progress, with reports indicating that the builder of Nirala Greens has deposited 25% of the dues to the authority. However, residents remain determined to continue their fight until complete resolution.
A protester from Gardenia Glory expressed disappointment, stating that they feel unsupported as everyone seems to favor the builder. Residents asserted that despite purchasing their flats a decade ago and completing full payments, they are still awaiting ownership rights, living in uncertainty as unauthorized occupants.
