Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for various development projects valued at over Rs 19,600 crore in Chandikhole, Odisha, on Tuesday.
These projects span across sectors such as Oil and Gas, Railways, roads, transport and highways, and Atomic Energy.
One of the highlighted projects is the inauguration of the Indian Oil Corporation Limited Mono Ethylene Glycol project in Paradip Refinery, aimed at reducing India’s import dependency, according to the Prime Minister’s office.
To bolster road infrastructure in the area, the Prime Minister unveiled the four-laning of Singhara to Binjabahal Section of NH-49, Binjabahal to Tileibani Section of NH-49, Balasore-Jharpokharia Section of NH-18, and Tangi-Bhubaneswar Section of NH-16. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the eight-laning of Chandikhole – Paradip Section at Chandikhole.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister dedicated to the nation the 162 km Bansapani – Daitari – Tomka – Jakhapura Rail Line, aimed at enhancing traffic capacity and facilitating efficient transportation of Iron and Manganese ore from Keonjhar District to nearby ports and steel plants, thereby contributing significantly to regional economic growth.
Other inaugurated projects include the CONCOR Container Depot in Kalinga Nagar, aimed at boosting domestic and international trade, and the foundation stone laying for the Electric Loco Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Narla, the Wagon Periodical Overhauling Workshop at Kantabanji, and the upgradation and augmentation of maintenance facilities at Baghuapal, the statement mentioned.
