His innings not only provided momentum but also stability to the Royals after losing early wickets in the Powerplay.
Riyan Parag played a supporting role with a well-crafted 43 off 29 balls, including a four and three sixes, contributing to a crucial 93-run partnership for the third wicket. Parag’s innings, although ending in the 15th over, added to the team’s total, with Dhruv Jurel also chipping in with a quick-fire 20 not out off 12 balls.
However, a potential setback was avoided when Krunal Pandya’s collision with non-striker Samson, while attempting a catch, didn’t result in a dismissal. Despite early challenges, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s aggressive start and contributions from other batsmen kept the Royals competitive after losing Jos Buttler early in the innings.
