In Manipur, significant efforts have been undertaken to facilitate the movement of essential goods and ensure security through search operations, the establishment of checkpoints, and the monitoring of vehicle movements along key national highways.
A total of 103 vehicles carrying essential items have been allowed to move along NH-37, while 178 vehicles have been facilitated along NH-2 to transport essential goods. Stringent security measures have been implemented across vulnerable locations, and security convoys have been deployed along sensitive stretches to guarantee the safe and unrestricted passage of these vehicles.
Moreover, a comprehensive network of 130 Nakas (checkpoints) has been set up across different districts of Manipur, encompassing both hill and valley regions. These checkpoints serve as critical points for monitoring and regulating traffic and movement. During these operations, law enforcement agencies have detained 225 individuals suspected of various violations across different districts of the state.
The installation of Nakas and the detention of individuals linked to violations highlight the proactive approach of the Manipur police and security forces in maintaining law and order, especially concerning the movement of essential goods and ensuring public safety. These efforts underscore the commitment of the authorities to uphold security and enforce regulations across the state to facilitate essential services and protect the well-being of residents.
