Three Resident Doctors Suspended Over Negligence After Pregnant Woman Forced to Deliver Child Near Hospital Gate

In a shocking incident highlighting negligence in medical care, the Rajasthan government has suspended three resident doctors of a government hospital in Bharatpur. This action comes after a pregnant woman was denied admission to the hospital, subsequently leading to her delivering the child near the hospital’s gate.

Shubhra Singh, the Additional Chief Secretary of Medical Education, announced the suspension of the doctors after an inquiry committee was swiftly constituted following the matter coming to light. The committee was established with immediate effect to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The suspended resident doctors from Kanwatia Hospital were identified as Kusum Saini, Neha Rajawat, and Manoj. The official statement cited “serious negligence and insensitivity” on their part as the reason for their suspension.

Furthermore, a show-cause notice has been issued to Kanwatia Hospital Superintendent Dr Rajendra Singh Tanwar for what was termed as “supervisory negligence” in handling the situation.

According to officials, the distressing incident unfolded on Wednesday when the pregnant woman was not admitted to the hospital despite experiencing labor pains. As a result, she was compelled to give birth to her child near the hospital’s entrance gate, highlighting the dire consequences of the alleged negligence.

The Rajasthan government’s swift action in suspending the resident doctors involved reflects a zero-tolerance policy towards such lapses in medical care. The investigation into the matter is ongoing, with authorities aiming to ensure accountability and prevent similar incidents in the future.
