3 feared dead, several trapped as coal mine collapses in Jharkhand
A coal mine in Jharkhand has left several trapped and 3 are feared to be dead. A portion of BCCL (Bharat Coking Coal Limited) open mine collapsed in Dhanbad. So far, one body has been recovered as per ANI reports. However, the exact number of casualties is unknown as of now. At least three people are feared dead and several might be trapped in the collapse.
An eyewitness quoted by PTI states that several local villagers were engaged in illegal mining when the mine collapsed. The incident took place in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad as per PTI reports. The incident occurred at 10.30 am at Bhowra Colliery Area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), about 21 km from Dhanbad.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Sindri, and Abhishek Kumar stated that rescue operations are underway. More Details are awaited in the accident.
