Kejriwal and Mann to Launch AAP’s Lok Sabha Campaign Today. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are gearing up to commence the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Lok Sabha campaign today at the party headquarters in Delhi. They will be joined by declared candidates and party leaders, according to a notification issued on Friday.
AAP has revealed its candidates for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections. As per the Parliamentary Affairs Committee’s decision, Somnath Bharti will contest from New Delhi, Mahabal Mishra from West Delhi, Kuldeep Kumar Monu from East Delhi, Sahi Ram Pehelwan from South Delhi, and Sushil Gupta will contest from Kurukshetra, the only seat AAP will contest in Haryana under the 4-3 agreement with the Congress.
Meanwhile, in the Punjab Assembly, the Congress has raised concerns regarding Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops and the Old Pension Scheme (OPS). Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann defended the State’s Budget for 2024-25, positioning it as a blueprint for Punjab’s advancement.
During the Budget deliberations, Leader of the Opposition Partap Singh Bajwa reminded AAP of its pre-election commitments, particularly emphasizing the need for clarity on MSP discussions for crops. Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja Warring questioned the sincerity of the OPS implementation, alleging it to be a mere electoral tactic.
In response, Bhagwant Mann criticized the Opposition’s tactics, labeling them as irresponsible and attention-seeking. While welcoming constructive suggestions, Mann condemned the Opposition, especially the Congress, for resorting to walkouts for media attention.
