Adani Green Deploys Robotic Cleaning for Sustainable Solar Operations

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) is set to revolutionize its solar operations by introducing a water-free robotic cleaning system to its operational solar capacity. This initiative aligns with India’s ambitious decarbonization objectives, with AGEL aiming to achieve over 45 GW by 2030. Currently boasting the largest operating renewable portfolio in India at 8.4 GW capacity, AGEL is strategically positioning itself for substantial growth in the upcoming years.

In a recent announcement during the H1 FY24 earnings briefing, Amit Singh, the CEO of Adani Green Energy, emphasized the company’s commitment to minimizing its water footprint across operational plants and reducing water usage in future projects. AGEL achieved water-positive certification for plants exceeding 200MW in FY23, a recognition granted by DNV, an independent global assurance agency.

Looking ahead, AGEL plans to invest in advanced robotic cleaning technology to significantly reduce water consumption, approaching almost zero across its plants. This move is a testament to the company’s dedication to environmental sustainability and its role in mitigating climate change risks. The CEO highlighted that beyond delivering returns to stakeholders, AGEL sees it as a moral imperative to contribute to building a cleaner planet for future generations.

As one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, AGEL is poised to become a key player on the global stage, positioning itself strategically in the rapidly growing renewable energy sector. The company’s emphasis on research, innovation, and adherence to favorable policies in India has created a robust ecosystem for the growth of locally manufactured green energy. With specific industry incentives and funding options in place, the renewable sector is not only addressing climate concerns but also promising an equitable and sustainable future. India’s pursuit of renewable energy goals opens up vast opportunities for expansion, with technological innovation expected to drive sustainable growth in the industry.
