In a testament to the fervent support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event in Abu Dhabi has received an unprecedented response, surpassing 65,000 registrations.
Jitendra Vaidya, President of the Indian People Forum and spearhead of the ‘Ahlan Modi’ initiative, expressed his excitement over the distinctive nature of the event. “This event is truly unique as it is not organized by a single entity but by the entire community. When PM Modi’s name is mentioned, people come together in large numbers. This is a demonstration of the love for PM Modi”
Organized by the Indian community in Abu Dhabi, the event has attracted significant attention, underscoring the widespread admiration and backing for Prime Minister Modi. Vaidya underscored the community-driven essence of ‘Ahlan Modi,’ emphasizing its collective nature.
“The registration tally surpassed 65,000 and closed on February 2,” Vaidya noted, highlighting the overwhelming response from the Indian diaspora in Abu Dhabi.
The Indian expatriate community, numbering approximately 3.5 million, represents the largest ethnic group in the UAE, constituting about 35 percent of the nation’s populace.
Key features of the event include an exhibition featuring over 700 cultural artists, showcasing the extensive diversity of Indian arts and ensuring an inclusive cultural celebration.
With active involvement from more than 150 Indian community organizations, the event illustrates India’s regional variety and the integration of thousands of blue-collar workers from across the emirates, weaving a vibrant tapestry of diversity and unity.
In a remarkable demonstration of solidarity and anticipation, the ‘Nari Shakti’ (women power) of the Indian community has shown overwhelming support and enthusiasm. They have registered in substantial numbers and are actively endorsing the event, embodying the ethos of women empowerment, communal harmony, and participation, as stated by the organizing committee.
Earlier, in an interview with ANI, Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir, expressed that people are eager to hear Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision and his concept of ‘Viksit Bharat’ (developed India) at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event scheduled for February 13.
During his visit to the UAE, PM Modi will address the Indian diaspora at the ‘Ahlan Modi’ event on February 13. Sudhir mentioned that they had to halt registrations as soon as the attendee count reached 65,000, as they were unable to accommodate more individuals.
PM Modi will embark on a two-day official visit to the UAE starting tomorrow. This will mark his seventh visit to the UAE since 2015 and the third in the past eight months.
During the visit, PM Modi will engage in bilateral discussions with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The two leaders will explore avenues to deepen, broaden, and fortify the strategic partnership between the nations and exchange perspectives on regional and global issues of mutual concern.
The Prime Minister will also participate as a Guest of Honour in the World Government Summit 2024 to be held in Dubai, where he will deliver a special keynote address.
