Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Ajit Pawar, stated today, offering clarification regarding his decision to align with the ruling BJP and the Shiv Sena-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the state.
Commending the “strong leadership and sound decision-making” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Pawar expressed his appreciation for the developmental efforts under their leadership. He emphasized his resonance with the working style of both leaders.
“In light of ongoing discussions in various media about the Nationalist Congress Party’s decision to collaborate with the Bharatiya Janata Party and Shiv Sena, I aim to provide clarity on my role in this matter,” mentioned Ajit Pawar in his statement.
“I consider the ongoing developmental initiatives under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah as crucial. Their attributes of strong leadership and prudent decision-making resonate with me. Our approaches to work bear striking similarities,” the statement highlighted.
“I believed that collaborating with them would facilitate more effective implementation of my developmental plans, hence I decided to join forces with them to advance the state towards progress. Since assuming this role, I’ve observed a noticeable acceleration in developmental endeavors,” he added.
Pawar emphasized that his objective was to undertake and accomplish developmental projects without compromise, and without intending to offend or harm anyone.
“My intention has been solely focused on executing development projects without compromising on principles or objectives. I have no intention of offending, hurting sentiments, deceiving, or causing harm to anyone. I have never harbored any ill intentions or engaged in underhanded tactics,” he stated.
He emphasized the significance of being in power to effectively serve the people, citing experiences both in power and in opposition, where he observed varying rates of development.
“I’ve observed that being in power accelerates development, whereas being in opposition often leads to stagnation in development projects. Therefore, it’s an undeniable truth that being in power is essential for executing development projects,” expressed the Deputy CM.
Furthermore, he clarified his respect for elders and emphasized his commitment to the welfare of the people, urging citizens to join him on his path of development and seeking blessings from seniors.
“I harbor no intentions of disrespecting or disregarding elders. My focus is on enhancing the standard of living and improving basic infrastructure for the people. I humbly request all citizens to join me in my developmental endeavors, and I seek blessings from our seniors,” he concluded.
Ajit Pawar, along with eight MLAs, joined the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra on July 2 last year.
