Amit Shah asserts PM Modi’s vision for advancing India into a developed nation

Commending Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has emphasized the BJP leader’s exemplary governance over the past decade, praising his strategic vision to steer India towards developed nation status by 2047. In an interview with ANI, Shah highlighted PM Modi’s dedication to fulfilling government commitments and promises.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a stellar track record spanning a decade and has charted a strategic roadmap for the next 25 years to propel India toward developed nation status by August 15, 2047. He has rallied the support of 1.3 billion citizens to elevate our nation’s stature in the coming years. I take pride in the collective commitment of our countrymen towards this noble pursuit,” Shah expressed.

“Vision Viksit Bharat @2047 aims at transforming India into a developed nation by 2047, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of our independence. This vision encompasses multifaceted development objectives, including economic prosperity, social advancement, environmental sustainability, and effective governance.”

Responding to queries about potential concerns from the opposition regarding constitutional amendments if the BJP-led NDA secures over 400 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Amit Shah emphasized the necessity for self-discipline in governance to maintain public trust.

“Whenever we have held a majority, we have exercised responsible governance, refraining from abusing our mandate. Reflect on the periods when Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and Rajiv Gandhi held significant majorities – was everything perfect then? Upholding self-discipline is imperative; otherwise, the electorate will not tolerate our leadership.”

“Central to our governance philosophy is fostering economic growth, establishing India as a global technological hub, promoting domestic manufacturing through self-reliance initiatives, and aligning our education system with international standards. Despite our comprehensive efforts towards economic empowerment, the opposition’s selective criticism aims to overshadow our broader achievements,” Shah added.

Critiquing opposition parties for questioning the timing of the Citizenship Amendment Act’s rule promulgation, Shah dismissed claims of political opportunism, asserting the BJP’s consistent stance on the CAA’s implementation.

“All opposition parties, including Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, and Arvind Kejriwal, are engaged in deceptive politics, rendering timing irrelevant. The BJP’s commitment to enacting the CAA was clearly articulated in our 2019 manifesto, and its passage in Parliament was delayed due to the pandemic. The recent rule notification is merely a procedural formality.”

“The law applies uniformly across the country, and I have reiterated on numerous occasions that it will be implemented. Opposition attempts to exploit the CAA for vote bank politics have been exposed. The CAA stands as a testament to our commitment to justice and humanitarian values,” Shah affirmed.

On March 11, the Union Home Ministry issued rules for the CAA’s implementation, aligning with the government’s objective to grant Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants from neighboring countries who arrived before December 31, 2014.
