Anu Malik shared his Journey on Friends of Mumbai Awards: Mumbai, Music, and Milestones

Renowned music composer Anu Malik recently graced the special Friends of Mumbai awards, hosted by iTV Network and powered by NewsX and Indianews. In a conversation with Senior Journalist , Anu Malik shared insights into his journey and his profound connection with Mumbai, reflecting on his experiences and offering advice to aspiring musicians.

“Mumbai is an emotion,” Malik proclaimed passionately, He shared about his childhood in Mumbai and how this city changed his dreams into reality. He is born and bought up in Mumbai, he referred to himself as a “beach boy”. “This city has made me Anu Malik. This city is like my Mother”.

Talking about his early days in the industry, Malik shared that how live music was the most influential and the the only way to grow in the music industry because of lack of technological advancements.

He urged inspiring singers to keep working towards their goal despite self-doubt, emphasizing the importance of belief and dedication in achieving success.

During the conversation, Malik paid homage to the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, praising her exemplary work and imparting wisdom inspired by her legacy. “Chase your passion, not money,” he asserted, echoing Mangeshkar’s ethos of prioritizing artistry over material gain.

Sharing an anecdote that encapsulated the tenacity required in the industry, Malik recounted a pivotal moment in his career. He revealed how he secured a movie project by singing in a bathroom, underscoring the importance of determination and seizing opportunities with fervor.
