Ayodhya’s Shri Ram International Airport Construction Near Completion

The Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya, designed in the image of the Shri Ram temple, is approaching its final stages of construction. GM of Airport Authority, Rajeev Kulshrestha, stated that the runway and parking facilities are ready, with the building work in its concluding phase. The airport, symbolizing the design of Lord Shri Ram’s temple, is a source of pride, with an inspection by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) indicating that flights may commence soon.

Ayodhya District Magistrate, Nitish Kumar, mentioned that the DGCA team has inspected the airport, expressing optimism about obtaining approval shortly. Once approved, the airport will open doors to air travel for residents and tourists, enhancing accessibility to Ayodhya. The construction design reflects the Nagara style, inspired by the seven Kandas of Ramayana, capturing the essence of Ayodhya and its spiritual significance.

Scheduled for inauguration on January 22, 2024, the Ram temple in Ayodhya is a significant cultural milestone. The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust plans to enthrone Ram Lalla at the sanctum-sanctorum between noon and 12:45 pm. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the inauguration, with Vedic rituals for the Pran-Pratishtha commencing on January 16, a week ahead of the main ceremony.

Ayodhya will observe the Amrit Mahautsav from January 14 to January 22, featuring a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya and arrangements to feed thousands of devotees. Tent cities are being established to accommodate the expected surge in visitors. The Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust is making logistical and security arrangements to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience during the grand consecration of the Ram Temple.

Architect Harsh Varshney highlighted that the airport’s design aims to recapture the magic and essence of Ayodhya, using the Nagara style of architecture. The columns represent the seven Kandas of Ramayana, encapsulating the city’s spirit. The airport becomes a symbol of Ayodhya’s rich cultural heritage and spiritual significance.
