On Wednesday, heavily armed Baloch militants forcefully entered the Gwadar Port Authority Complex, unleashing gunfire and triggering multiple explosions in Pakistan’s troubled Balochistan province, according to a media report.
Makran Commissioner Saeed Ahmed Umrani stated that a significant deployment of police and security forces has arrived at the scene, with intense exchanges of fire ongoing.
Initial reports have not indicated any casualties. The Majeed Brigade, affiliated with the proscribed Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), has claimed responsibility for the assault.
The separatist BLA vehemently opposes China’s investments in Balochistan, alleging exploitation of the province’s abundant resources by both China and Pakistan.
