The media sources claim that the Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be notifying the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rules on Monday evening (March 11th).
Informing that the most controversial act that is the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019 (CAA) was enacted by the Parliament of India on December 11, 2019.
This amendment to the Citizenship Act, 1955 offers an expedited route to Indian citizenship for persecuted religious minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan who entered India by 2014.
However the rules for CAA are yet to be notified. However PM Modi to make a major announcement shortly.
In an unprecedented move, the Modi administration is zealously pushing for the bestowal of Indian nationality upon persecuted non-Muslim migrants, including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians, from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan who arrived in India by December 31, 2014.
