Legislators have gathered at the Bihar Assembly ahead of a crucial floor test for the Nitish Kumar government. JDU members were seen entering the house, displaying victory signs, signaling confidence in securing the necessary numbers to ensure the government’s survival.

As preparations unfold, both the JDU-NDA alliance and the RJD assert their majority. JDU leader Neeraj Kumar expressed assurance in the NDA’s favor and hinted at a no-confidence motion against the Speaker, while BJP’s Shahnawaz Hussain emphasized Nitish Kumar’s leadership and the government’s stability.

In response, RJD’s Mrityunjay Tiwari stressed the resolve to safeguard Bihar’s future, implying dissatisfaction with the current government. RJD MLA Bhai Virendra confidently claimed to have the majority mark needed for success in the floor test.

The looming trust vote follows Nitish Kumar’s ninth oath-taking as Bihar’s Chief Minister, marking a significant shift in alliances. Enhanced security measures surround the Bihar Vidhan Sabha in anticipation of the crucial proceedings.

Nitish Kumar’s recent political maneuvers have stirred speculation and reshaped Bihar’s political landscape. With the support of its allies, the ruling NDA seeks to secure a majority in the House, highlighting the significance of the impending vote.

Rajeev Mishra, SSP Patna said, “Security arrangements have been made in view of the assembly session today. Today is the first day of the session. Whatever happens inside the House, we have nothing to do with it, they have their personnel who make the arrangements for the security inside the House.”
Earlier in January, Nitish, who had reportedly gone into a sulk after not being named the convenor of INDIA, the Opposition bloc that took shape through his efforts, dumped the Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) in Bihar and the national coalition to form a new government with the support of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
