In a bizarre incident in Rajasthan’s Alwar, a 24-year-old woman who was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) was reportedly sexually assaulted by a nursing assistant. The woman, who was receiving treatment for a lung infection, was in the ICU at the time of the incident, which allegedly occurred around 4 am.
The accused, identified as Chirag Yadav, is said to have raped her. Additionally, the survivor claimed that the accused injected her with a substance to render her unconscious when she attempted to raise an alarm, as per the police.
The police officer mentioned that the woman regained consciousness after receiving a call from her husband on her mobile phone. Subsequently, she recounted the traumatic experience to her family.
“We have detained the accused and he is being interrogated. We have also examined CCTV footage in which he is seen going to the bed and covering it with curtains,” he said.
