The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly criticized Trinamool Congress MP Santanu Sen for his comments on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flight in the Tejas aircraft during his visit to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) to inspect ongoing work. The BJP is demanding the immediate removal of Sen from his position due to the controversial nature of his remarks.
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla condemned Sen for expressing a wish for the Tejas aircraft to crash, emphasizing that such sentiments are tantamount to wishing harm to an Air Force pilot and labeled the remarks as “anti-forces.” Poonawalla characterized Sen’s comments as a “new low” in national politics and called on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to take action, stating that the TMC should dismiss Sen if any integrity remains within the party.
Poonawalla accused Sen of displaying animosity not only towards PM Modi and the BJP but also towards India’s military and the Indian Air Force. He urged Mamata Banerjee to expel Sen from the Trinamool Congress immediately if she values patriotism and morality.
Senator Santanu Sen had expressed concerns on Saturday that the Tejas fighter might crash after Prime Minister Modi’s flight in it. He made additional controversial remarks linking unrelated events to the Prime Minister, suggesting a pattern of negativity.
PM Modi, on the other hand, shared his positive experience of flying in the Tejas fighter on social media, praising the indigenous capabilities of the aircraft and expressing confidence in the country’s potential. The Prime Minister’s sortie was conducted under the supervision of the Indian Air Force, which currently operates two squadrons of these planes. The IAF has also placed orders for 83 new LCAs named ‘LCA Mark 1A.’
