As the nation awaits the exit poll results for the assembly elections in five states, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has boldly predicted that the BJP will not secure victories in any of the poll-going states. Gehlot’s remarks, made just hours before the anticipated release of exit polls, come as polling is underway to elect legislators for the 119-member assembly in Telangana.
Expressing unwavering confidence, CM Gehlot asserted that the Congress would return to power in Rajasthan, regardless of the exit poll outcomes. He stated, “No matter what exit polls say, Congress will form the government in Rajasthan. BJP is not winning in any of the 5 states.” Gehlot outlined three key reasons why he believes Congress will triumph, citing continued public support, the absence of an anti-incumbency wave, and the developmental efforts undertaken during their tenure.
Addressing the language used by top BJP leaders during the campaign, Gehlot remarked that it was not well-received by the public. He also emphasized the Congress’s commitment to social guarantees as a significant factor contributing to their anticipated success in all five states.
Of the five states undergoing elections, Madhya Pradesh is the sole state currently under BJP rule. In Rajasthan’s 2018 elections, the Congress secured 99 seats, while the BJP won 73. Gehlot assumed the CM position with the support of BSP MLAs and independents.
The counting of votes for Rajasthan and four other states is scheduled for December 3, promising a conclusive end to the intense political contests and providing clarity on Gehlot’s bold predictions.
