As the Lok Sabha elections loom closer, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has embarked on a mission named ‘GYAN’, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambitious target of securing 370-plus seats for the party and ‘400 paar’ (beyond 400) for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Coined by PM Modi himself, ‘GYAN’ represents the focus on the welfare and upliftment of ‘Garib’ (poor), Yuva (youth), Annadata (farmers), and Nari (women).
In a stirring address at the party’s national headquarters in Delhi, PM Modi emphasized the pivotal role of these four sections in India, categorizing them as the country’s primary constituents. The BJP’s strategy entails extensive outreach efforts directed towards these segments of society, with key leaders such as Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and BJP National President JP Nadda spearheading the campaign.
Under the banner of ‘Mission GYAN’, BJP heavyweights and senior leaders including Sunil Bansal, Bijayant (Jai) Panda, Tarun Chugh, and Shivprakash have been tasked with the responsibility of ensuring the success of the mission. The party plans to conduct targeted events and addresses to engage with each of these segments effectively.
Prime Minister Modi is slated to address women voters across the country, with West Bengal chosen as the venue for his forthcoming speech. This choice holds significance amidst the ongoing unrest in Sandeshkhali, where women have protested against alleged abuses by ruling party members. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will engage with farmers in Raipur, coinciding with farmer protests in Delhi. Similarly, JP Nadda will address the youth in Nagpur, while Amit Shah focuses on backward classes at an OBC Mahasabha in Patna.
The outreach efforts under ‘Mission GYAN’ encompass a wide range of activities aimed at establishing direct contact with various sections of society. From village parikrama yatras for farmers to dialogue programs in Dalit settlements, the BJP aims to connect with voters from diverse backgrounds. The Mahila Morcha and Yuva Morcha have also been actively involved in engaging with women’s self-help groups and setting up youth chaupals across the country, respectively.
With the BJP’s concerted efforts and comprehensive outreach strategy, the party aims to consolidate support from across the societal spectrum, laying the groundwork for a decisive victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. As the countdown to the polls begins, ‘Mission GYAN’ stands as a testament to the BJP’s commitment to inclusive governance and grassroots engagement.
