BJP mocks Arvind Kejriwal’s meeting with Mamata Banerjee, calls it ‘political tourism’

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national vice-president Dilip Ghosh reacted to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s meet with Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and termed it “political tourism”. Kejriwal, along with other Aam Aadmi Party leaders had met Banerjee on Tuesday to garner support against the Centre’s ordinance to control appointments and transfer of bureaucrats in Delhi.

Ghosh said, “The political tourism of several Prime Ministerial aspirants from the opposition camp has started ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. But this political tourism at the cost of public money will not yield any result, as there is no vacancy for the Prime Minister’s post in 2024.”

BJP state president Sukanta Majumdar, too, criticised the meeting and said, “The people of this country would never vote for an unstable and opportunistic alliance over a stable government offered by the BJP.”

Meanwhile, Mamata Banerjee lent her support to Kejriwal and said that TMC will oppose it and also appeal to other parties to oppose it. “This is a chance to unite and send a big message that if we can defeat the BJP in the Rajya Sabha, this ordinance can also go,” Mamata Banerjee said during a press conference.
