British Airways’ Collaboration with Butterflies NGO Brings Happiness to Underprivileged Indian Street Children

British Airways, a leading global airline, demonstrates its unwavering commitment to corporate social responsibility through a partnership with Butterflies NGO in India, aimed at empowering underprivileged children. A donation drive orchestrated by 83 Indian employees, spanning cabin crew, sales personnel, airport, and cargo staff, unfolded across key cities including Bangalore, Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad, rallying support and funds for this noble cause.

The enthusiastic participation of British Airways’ Indian crew members was palpable throughout the fundraising drive, which commenced in Chennai and traversed through Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, culminating in Hyderabad. Amidst iconic landmarks like India Gate and Gateway of India, the crew showcased their dedication by wheeling aircraft trolleys, symbolizing unity in purpose. Together, they raised over INR 1.8 Lakhs, earmarked to bolster the education of street children.

The Trolley Dash initiative serves as a conduit for British Airways employees to connect with local communities, extending support to initiatives like Flying Start and Sport Relief. Originally a London tradition, where cabin crew dash with an aircraft trolley across iconic bridges, the Trolley Dash made its inaugural debut in India, exemplifying the airline’s commitment to community engagement and social upliftment.

In addition to its partnership with Butterflis NGO, British Airways extends support to the Hamara Foundation, striving to enhance the lives of underprivileged children in Mumbai through life skills and vocational training. As a longstanding global airline, British Airways has been instrumental in connecting Britain with the world for over a century, boasting an extensive international route network and a commitment to sustainability through initiatives like BA Better World.
