CBSE Board Exam 2024: Schools Directed to Submit Observations on Question Papers Promptly

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a directive urging schools to provide feedback on question papers for the ongoing board exams. In a bid to streamline the process, CBSE has outlined specific requirements for submitting these observations.

According to the board’s instructions, schools are requested to upload their observations on the Online Exam Centre Management System (OECMS) on the same day as the exam. However, CBSE has assured that no punitive action will be taken if schools fail to meet this deadline, provided the submissions are eventually made, adhere to the board’s guidelines, and are sufficiently clear.

In an official notification, CBSE emphasized the importance of receiving timely and coherent feedback from schools. The board expressed concern over instances where observations were being sent to incorrect email addresses or submitted several days after the exam. Notably, some feedback lacked clarity, making it challenging for CBSE to address the issues effectively. For instance, CBSE cited cases where the nature of the problem with a question was not clearly specified.

The notification also addressed a false circular circulating on social media, falsely claiming that the board exams had been postponed due to ongoing farmers’ protests. CBSE clarified that no such decision had been made, reaffirming the schedule for Class 10 and Class 12 exams, which began on February 15 and will continue until March 13 and April 2 respectively.

As the board examinations progress, CBSE remains committed to ensuring fairness and integrity in the examination process, relying on constructive feedback from schools to enhance the quality of question papers and uphold the standards of academic excellence.
