The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved eight major National High-Speed Road Corridor Projects totaling 936 kilometers at a cost of 50,655 crore rupees. These projects aim to improve logistics, reduce congestion, and enhance connectivity nationwide. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that these projects align with India’s vision for 2047 during a briefing in New Delhi.

One of the projects includes developing a six-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed Corridor, spanning 88 kilometers, on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis for 4,613 crore rupees. Another project is a four-lane Kharagpur-Moregram National High-Speed Corridor, which will be an access-controlled, high-speed road of 231 kilometers, developed in Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM) for 10,247 crore rupees.
