On Sunday morning, cold weather conditions persisted in the national capital, prompting residents to gather around bonfires to seek warmth. According to data shared by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s minimum temperature could plummet to 7 degrees Celsius, with the maximum temperature expected to reach 25 degrees Celsius.
Visibility concerns due to the prevailing weather conditions have resulted in delays for several flights at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. As a precautionary measure, the airport authorities have issued an advisory, alerting airlines that flights not compliant with Category III regulations may experience disruptions.
Looking ahead, the weather agency forecasts that Delhi’s maximum temperature will hover around 25 degrees Celsius for the next two days. Additionally, the Meteorological Department anticipates light rainfall over Central India from February 10 to 12, followed by rainfall in East India from February 12 to 14.
Last week, North India, including Delhi, experienced severe cold and dense fog, leading to travel disruptions and inconveniences for passengers. Flights, trains, and other modes of transportation were delayed as a result of the adverse weather conditions.
As the cold spell persists, residents are advised to take necessary precautions to stay warm and to plan their travel accordingly, considering potential delays and disruptions caused by the inclement weather.
