According to party leader Alka Lamba, the Congress will reveal the names of all 68 of its candidates for the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections on November 12.
Lamba had earlier in the day announced that the Congress will unveil the initial list of 57 candidates on Sunday and then announce the final 11 candidates. She stated in a statement made that evening that all 68 candidates will be announced on Monday.
The hill state’s 68 assembly seats will be up for election on November 12; the results will be tallied on December 8. The BJP presently has 43 members in the legislature, followed by the Congress with 22. In the assembly, there are two Independents and one CPM MLA.
In the state, where the Aam Aadmi Party will also be trying its luck, a straight confrontation between the BJP and the Congress is expected to occur. The deadline for submitting nominations is October 25, and the notice for the state elections will be sent on October 17.
On October 27, papers will be scrutinised, and on October 29, papers may no longer be submitted.
