India’s COVID-19 cases dip further; 3,325 new infections recorded in last 24 hours

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India recorded 3,325 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, 957 fewer than the amount published on Monday. The number of positive Covid cases has decreased in recent days, according to the Ministry, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 44,175. On Monday, the government reported 4,282 instances, while on Sunday, 5,874 cases were reported.

In the last 24 hours, 6,379 Covid patients recovered, bringing the overall number of recoveries to 4,43,77,257. The recovery rate is 98.72 percent. The daily positivity rate is currently 2.29 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is 3.87 percent.

According to the Health Ministry, 92.69 crore Covid tests have been performed in the country thus far, with 1,45,309 tests performed in the last 24 hours. According to the Ministry, 2,180 doses of vaccination were delivered in the previous 24 hours.

The presentation also offered an overview of distinct variants’ genome sequencing since January 2023, as well as the proportion of circulating variants in India. According to the PMO, the status of immunisation was discussed, followed by medicine supply and infrastructural readiness across the country. Bhushan further encouraged officials to keep a close eye on the COVID-19 situation and take whatever required steps to contain its spread.
