Creating Safe Space with Trijog: Redefining Therapy in India

The inspiration behind the establishment of Trijog stems from a deep-seated desire to bridge the significant gap in quality-driven mental health care in India. A decade ago, the landscape of mental health care in India was fragmented and stigmatized, characterized by individual practitioners and clinics. The transformative moment came after a life-altering experience during the 2015 Nepal earthquake. This near-death encounter underscored the fundamental human need for safety and support. Inspired by personal recovery from PTSD and anxiety, and guided by a family legacy in psychology, the founders recognized the urgent need for a comprehensive, supportive system for mental health care in India. Trijog was born out of this realization, aiming to provide access, acknowledgment, and acceptance to those suffering in silence.

The concept of “Your Safe Space” at Trijog is designed to redefine the traditional therapy experience, which has often been viewed negatively. Ms. Arushi Sethi Shah, Co-Founder & CEO, informed us that a safe space is one where individuals feel relaxed, comfortable, and understood. At Trijog, every element is crafted to put clients at ease, transforming the perception of mental health care from something daunting to something nurturing. Traditional mental health facilities often evoke images of sterile, unwelcoming environments. In contrast, Trijog aims to create a sanctuary where the mind is celebrated and cared for, much like one’s physical health. This redefinition is central to the mission of Trijog, promoting mental wellness in a positive light.

The design of Trijog’s headquarters is a testament to the belief that the environment plays a crucial role in the therapeutic process. A great deal of thought went into the design, with a focus on colors and comfort to create a soothing atmosphere. The color palette includes sage green, yellow, and white, chosen for their calming effects. The furniture is selected to provide maximum comfort, and each therapy room is designed to resemble a spa, ensuring that clients feel relaxed and at ease. The overall service experience is meticulously crafted, from the way clients are greeted to the amenities provided, all contributing to an atmosphere of lightness and comfort.

Trijog’s eclectic therapy solutions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. This approach involves a combination of various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), and Art-Based Therapy (ABT), among others. The initial session focuses on understanding the client’s history, challenges, and triggers, which then informs a customized plan of action. This individualized approach ensures that the therapy is effective and resonates with the client’s specific circumstances. Trijog’s commitment to holistic mental health care is evident in its diverse range of services, each designed to address the distinct needs of individuals, corporates, and the community. As Trijog expands, the focus remains on maintaining the quality and personalized care that has been its hallmark, ensuring that more people can experience a supportive and enriching mental health care environment.
