A 39-year-old Danish man, Peter von Tangen Buskov, has achieved an extraordinary feat by securing a Guinness World Record title for the “most matches held in the nose.” Mr. Buskov managed to insert a staggering 68 matchsticks into his nostrils, surpassing the minimum requirement of 54 set by the Guinness World Records.
Remarkably, Mr. Buskov revealed that the feat did not cause him much discomfort. He attributed his success to his large nostrils and stretchy skin, which facilitated the insertion of the matchsticks.
According to Mr. Buskov, the idea to attempt this unusual record came to him as he pondered over different “fun records” he could pursue. Despite the randomness of the challenge, he embraced it wholeheartedly, driven by his curiosity and desire for unique experiences.
Although he has reached the maximum capacity with 68 matchsticks, Mr. Buskov remains open to the possibility of extending his record in the future. He believes that with some training or as he ages, his nostrils might accommodate even more matchsticks.
Expressing his delight at setting a world record, Mr. Buskov emphasized the importance of embracing life’s peculiar aspects and encouraged others to explore their own interests and talents. He hopes that his unusual achievement will inspire others to pursue their passions and perhaps even set their own records.
Looking ahead, Mr. Buskov is considering attempting another world record involving facial orifices, but acknowledges the need for further practice to succeed. Meanwhile, social media users have reacted with a mix of amazement and humor to his remarkable feat, applauding his talent and uniqueness.
