Father Reports Daughter’s Kidnapping and ₹30 Lakh Ransom Demand, but Police Suspect Faked Incident
A father from Madhya Pradesh reported to the police that his 21-year-old daughter had been kidnapped, accompanied by a ransom demand of ₹30 lakh. He claimed to have received pictures showing his daughter with tied hands and feet, stating that she was studying at a coaching institute in Kota, Rajasthan.
However, the Kota police’s initial investigation suggests that no crime occurred, indicating a fabricated kidnapping. Superintendent of Police Amrita Duhan stated that evidence thus far points to a false incident.
Upon receiving the complaint, police teams were formed. They discovered that the girl was living with friends in Indore, 400 kilometers away from her parents.
One of the friends revealed that the girl and another friend planned to go abroad, citing the need for money to study overseas. The girl had not been in Kota for months and had not enrolled in any coaching institute or hostel there.
The police found that the girl stayed at a coaching institute briefly in August but left for Indore soon after. To deceive her parents, she sent messages about her test performance from a different number and then staged her kidnapping with the help of a friend, sending ransom demands to her father.
