Deepender Hooda Speaks on Khattar’s Resignation: ‘Public Demand for Change Evident’

Amidst significant political upheaval in Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, along with his entire cabinet, has tendered their resignations following the rupture of the BJP-JJP alliance. The alliance, which had been under mounting tension, collapsed as the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) led by Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala withdrew its support.

In response to the developments, Congress MP Deepender Hooda emphasized that the public’s desire for change was evident in Haryana, expressing confidence in the upcoming elections. Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh echoed this sentiment, stating that the time for change had arrived, citing pressure from various sectors of society.

Meanwhile, Hisar MP Brijendra Singh took a jibe at Khattar’s resignation, suggesting a lack of respect in the manner of departure. Khattar formally submitted his resignation to Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya after the alliance breakdown.

Following the resignation, Khattar convened a meeting with BJP leadership at Haryana Niwas in Chandigarh. Senior BJP figures, including state BJP chief Nayab Saini, observers Arjun Munda and Tarun Chug, and former State BJP chief Subhash Barala, were present at the gathering.

While the BJP asserts its majority in the assembly with 41 MLAs, the party also enjoys the support of 5 independent MLAs and Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) MLA Gopal Kanda. Discussions are underway regarding the future leadership and course of action within the BJP.

The political turmoil in Haryana underscores the volatile nature of alliances and the shifting dynamics leading up to the Lok Sabha elections expected between April and May. With the landscape in flux, the political future of Haryana remains uncertain as parties navigate the evolving scenario.
