Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Firmly Declines BJP’s Invitation to Join Party

In a fiery speech at the foundation stone laying ceremony of four new government schools in northwest Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of unleashing investigative agencies to frame false cases against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Kejriwal stated that the BJP had approached him to join the party, an offer he firmly rejected.

Kejriwal alleged that all investigative agencies were being used to fabricate cases against the AAP, hindering the development work undertaken by his government. Despite the ongoing barrage of allegations from both parties, Kejriwal affirmed his commitment to the development of schools and hospitals, emphasizing that he would not be swayed even if he were to face imprisonment.

Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal said, “They are asking me to join BJP and will spare us if I do, but I have said that I am not going to join BJP no matter what.” He further claimed that conspiracies had been hatched to disrupt the progress of the AAP government in Delhi.

The Chief Minister highlighted the achievements of his government in the health and education sectors, emphasizing that over the last eight years, the Delhi government had allocated 40% of its budget to schools and hospitals, compared to the Centre’s 4%. Kejriwal also mentioned the development work in unauthorised colonies and additional projects underway in Kirari.

Responding to Kejriwal’s allegations, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva dismissed the claims, stating that the AAP government was engulfed in corruption and theft. Sachdeva asserted that Kejriwal was attempting to distract the people of Delhi and accused him of lying.

In a later post on social media, Kejriwal reiterated his stance, stating, “If we have done something wrong, we would have joined BJP like the others did and got our cases closed. All the cases filed against us are false.” He expressed confidence that the cases would eventually be resolved, and vowed to continue serving the country and society as long as he breathed.
