Delhi Ordinance War: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal is likely to meet Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday to seek his support in his war against the Centre’s Ordinance on control over administrative services in the state.
According to AAP sources cited by ANI, Kejriwal and Yadav’s meeting will be held in Lucknow.
Delhi CM Kejriwal is on a nationwide tour to gather the support of the opposition parties in his fight. so far, he has met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Jharkhand CM Soren, TN CM Stalin, NCP supremo Pawar, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray.
Earlier, protesting against the Ordinance, Kejriwal called it the Centre’s ugly joke on democracy. We had said that AAP will challenge the Ordinance and will approach the opposition to resist the ordinance.
The Union government brought an Ordinance on May 19 to notify rules for the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi regarding the transfer, posting, vigilance and other incidental matters. The Ordinance was brought in on May 19 to amend the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi Act, 1991.
