“Discussions will be held”: Arjun Ram Meghwal on Ram Temple resolution in Parliament

On Saturday, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal announced that discussions are set to take place today as the BJP has issued a three-line whip to all its members in Parliament, signaling the government’s intention to introduce a resolution on the Ram Temple in Ayodhya during the final day of the current Lok Sabha session.

Responding to inquiries about the proposed Ram Temple resolution, Meghwal affirmed “Discussions will be held today.” He underscored the accomplishments of the BJP-led NDA government since assuming power in 2014, emphasizing the government’s decisiveness and its track record of making significant decisions, particularly highlighting the momentum in 2019 following the formation of the government.

MP Satyapal Singh, slated to lead the discussion on the Ram Lalla Pran Pratishta, emphasized the importance of the discourse for the nation and the incoming Parliament. He hailed the construction of the temple, crediting PM Modi, the courts, and the unwavering faith of the people, framing the event as monumental for India.

Meanwhile, BJP MP Pratap Sarangi criticized the opposition, asserting that the construction of the Ram Temple at Lord Ram’s birthplace epitomizes national unity. He deemed the discussion crucial for public awareness, contrasting it with alternative proposals, such as constructing toilets at the temple site, emphasizing the temple’s symbolic significance.

Today marks the final session of the ongoing budget session of Parliament and the last gathering of the current Lok Sabha before the upcoming general elections, projected for April-May. Initially scheduled to conclude on February 9, the budget session has been extended by a day.

In other parliamentary proceedings, Rajya Sabha is set to conduct a brief discussion on the Centre’s White Paper and the Pran Pratistha of Ram Lalla. The Pran Pratishtha ceremony for Shri Ram Lalla took place on January 22 at Ayodhya’s historic temple.
