“Each woman deserves dignity..”: Kangana Ranaut Takes A Jibe On Congress

Actor Kangana Ranaut is on discussion for reasons. One is her latest update over her political debut joining the Bhartiya Janata Party and the other is the derogatory remarks made by the Congress. Not happy with the comments, Kangana Ranaut expresses distress she emphasized the importance of dignity for every woman, regardless of her background and her profession.

“Every woman, whether she is a teacher, actress, journalist, politician, or sex worker, deserves dignity. I am especially hurt by the disrespectful comments about Mandi… Those of us from Mandi are deeply affected by these remarks,” Ranaut expressed.

She expressed particular distress over derogatory remarks made by Congress leaders regarding Mandi, the constituency from which she is contesting in the Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket.

Ranaut highlighted Mandi’s reputation as “chota Kashi” globally while speaking to reporters outside the Chandigarh airport. The comments made by Congress leaders Supriya Shrinate and H S Ahir on social media about Ranaut and Mandi sparked a significant political controversy.

Regarding potential action against the Congress leaders, Ranaut mentioned her scheduled meeting with BJP president J P Nadda in Delhi and stated that she would respond after discussing the matter with him. She emphasized the need to uphold the party’s dignity and follow their guidance.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) also intervened, condemning the derogatory remarks and urging the Election Commission to take strict action against Shrinate and Ahir. Ranaut had previously criticized Shrinate for her comments, asserting that every woman deserves respect based on her diverse roles throughout her career.

Shrinate responded by clarifying that her social media accounts are accessible to multiple individuals, and she promptly removed the inappropriate post upon discovery. She reiterated her stance of never making indecent comments towards any woman and expressed a desire to investigate the incident further.

Countering the rage, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj said, “I saw a video of Congress leader Supriya Shrinate, where she said that this was done by one of her staff. She openly apologised for this incident. I believe that apologising after your mistake shows your gratitude. The BJP leader and Manipur CM has not apologised till now, for two women being paraded naked in Manipur. No BJP leader has apologised till now for sexual assault with the Olympic wrestlers… The objectionable comments should not be made on any woman whether she is a supporter of the BJP or not…”
