Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 jolts Ladakh

The latest earthquake struck at a depth of 10 km at 2:16 on Sunday morning.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS) reported that on Sunday, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale occurred 279 kilometres northeast of the Leh district of Ladakh.

At a depth of 10 km, the earthquake struck at 8:28 am. A tremor of Magnitude 4.3, Occurred on June 18, 2023, 8:28:26 IST, Lat: 35.72 & Long: 79.98, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 279 km NE of Leh, Ladakh, India, tweeted NCS.

There have not yet been any reported fatalities or injuries. More information is still awaited, though. The Government of India’s nodal agency for tracking seismic activity in the nation is the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).

In Leh, Ladakh, there have been three earthquakes in the last twenty-four hours.
A 4.1-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale occurred in the early hours of Sunday 295 kilometres northeast of the Leh district of Ladakh.

The latest one struck at a depth of 10 km at 2:16 in the morning.The tweet from NCS stated, “Earthquake of Magnitude:4.1, Occurred on 18-06-2023, 02:16:49 IST, Lat: 35.85 & Long: 80.08, Depth: 10 Km, Location: 295km NE of Leh, Ladakh.”

A 4.5 on the Richter scale quake struck Ladakh at 9.44 PM on Saturday night as well.
