The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is currently conducting searches at the residences and properties of a close associate of Tamil Nadu Minister Senthil Balaji, who is embroiled in an alleged cash-for-jobs scandal, according to sources from the ED. These raids are being carried out at approximately 10 locations associated with the unnamed aide of the minister in Tamil Nadu. Further information regarding these raids is expected to be disclosed later.
Senthil Balaji had previously been apprehended by ED officials on June 14 in connection with the cash-for-jobs scandal. Subsequently, he was presented before the MP/MLAs Special Court in Chennai. The said special court, designated for Members of Parliament and Members of Legislative Assemblies, has extended Balaji’s judicial custody until September 15. During this hearing, the court also provided Balaji with a copy of the chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in relation to his case.
