Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Wednesday that all content creators on the YouTube platform possess the potential to drive transformative changes in the lives of a vast segment of India’s population, facilitating empowerment and fortitude among individuals.
Addressing an audience of “fellow YouTubers” at YouTube Fanfest India 2023, the Prime Minister stressed the collective capacity to bring about transformation and strengthen individuals: “Together, we can bring transformation to the lives of a vast population in our country. Together we can empower and strengthen many more individuals.”
PM Modi referred to YouTube content creators as “My YouTuber friends” and noted his own longstanding connection with the country and the global audience through a YouTube channel spanning 15 years. He also proudly mentioned his substantial number of subscribers.
The Prime Minister highlighted the significant impact of YouTubers in making cleanliness appealing and trendy, particularly in the context of the Swachh Bharat Mission. He acknowledged the nationwide efforts that turned Swachh Bharat into a substantial campaign over the past nine years and urged continued commitment to making cleanliness a fundamental aspect of India’s identity.
Regarding digital payments, PM Modi urged fellow YouTubers to simplify the teaching of digital transaction methods in their videos, capitalizing on the success of UPI, which has contributed to India’s 46 percent share in global digital payments.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister encouraged YouTubers to make heartfelt appeals in their videos, encouraging people to support local products and contribute to the global recognition of Indian goods. He emphasized the need to connect with India’s rich heritage and the hard work of its artisans.
Prime Minister Modi also invited all viewers to subscribe to his YouTube channel and activate the Bell Icon to stay updated about his activities and programs.
