On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the New Delhi Leaders Summit Declaration had been agreed upon. Speaking at the second session of the Summit at the Bharat Mandapam, Modi remarked, “I have just received the good news that due to the diligent work of our teams and your cooperation, a consensus has been reached on the New Delhi G20 Leaders Summit Declaration.”
“It is my proposal that this G20 declaration be adopted,” the prime minister said. After the approval of the members, Modi declared that it had been adopted.
The declaration’s 12 commitments will aid in tackling issues including climate change and financial fragility. India has prioritised multilateralism and providing the global south a voice in order to increase the democratic nature of decision-making. One of its components is bringing Africa into the G20.
