Gautam Adani, the visionary Chairperson of the Adani Group, took to Twitter to extend his heartfelt congratulations to the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the triumphant landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon’s South Pole. The tweet from Adani came as a testament to the nation’s collective pride in the achievement that marks a significant milestone in India’s space exploration journey.
In his tweet, Gautam Adani lauded ISRO’s remarkable accomplishment, highlighting the role of space missions in showcasing a nation’s confidence and capabilities. He expressed his belief that this moment truly belongs to India, signifying the country’s emergence as a spacefaring nation. He concluded with the iconic phrase, “Jai Hind,” reaffirming the unity and patriotism that this achievement has stirred within the hearts of the country’s 1.4 billion citizens.
“Congratulations, @isro! You are indeed the pride of the nation. A country’s ability to execute space missions reflects her confidence and this is India’s time. A historic moment for our 1.4 billion citizens as our nation’s orbits continue to expand. Jai Hind.” Gautam Adani wrote.
The successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon is a monumental achievement for India, solidifying its place among the world’s space superpowers. The spacecraft’s landing was met with widespread celebration and a renewed sense of optimism, especially given the disappointment of Chandrayaan-2’s crash landing four years ago.
The Indian Space Research Organization proudly announced via Twitter, “I reached my destination and you too! Chandrayaan-3 has successfully soft-landed on the moon. Congratulations, India.” Alongside this announcement, ISRO released captivating footage showcasing the Vikram lander as it made its historic touchdown on the lunar surface. The video also captured the rover embarking on its “moonwalk,” with the Indian national flag visibly displayed on its back.
The recently released visuals are a testament to the meticulous planning and relentless efforts that ISRO invested in Chandrayaan-3. Earlier setbacks, including the Chandrayaan-2 lander’s unfortunate loss of contact, have not deterred the organization’s commitment to exploring the cosmos and pushing the boundaries of technology.
Chandrayaan-3’s successful landing also bears significant scientific importance. The rover and lander are primed to conduct a range of tasks during their operational period of one lunar day, equivalent to 14 days on Earth. This presents a unique opportunity for in-situ scientific experiments that could unveil valuable insights about the moon’s uncharted territories.
As India celebrates this historic achievement, it joins the ranks of a select few countries that have successfully soft-landed on the moon’s surface. Prior to India, only the United States, China, and Russia had achieved this feat, making Chandrayaan-3’s triumph a matter of both national pride and international recognition.
Chandrayaan-3’s journey began with its launch from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh’s Sriharikota on July 14. Despite facing unforeseen delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the mission persevered, demonstrating the resilience of India’s scientific community and its commitment to pushing the boundaries of human knowledge.
The Chandrayaan-3 mission’s approved budget of Rs 250 crores (excluding launch vehicle cost) reflects the nation’s investment in its space exploration endeavors. Beyond the financial aspect, this mission stands as a testament to India’s ability to overcome challenges, learn from setbacks, and ultimately achieve greatness on a global stage.
