Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais led tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on Monday, marking the 394th birth anniversary of the revered warrior king. Sawant garlanded the statue of Shivaji Maharaj in Goa, while Governor Bais offered floral tributes to his portrait in Raj Bhavan.
In Maharashtra, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Ministers Ajit Pawar and Devendra Fadnavis participated in celebrations at Shivneri Fort. CM Shinde also paid respects at a statue of Shivaji in Chembur, Mumbai, and performed the bhumi pujan for the beautification of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj circle and statue.
Taking to social media, Chief Minister Shinde expressed his reverence, stating, “Salutations to the revered deity of Akhand Hindustan, the founder of Hindavi Swarajya, Maharajadhiraj Shri #Chhatrapati #Shivaji_Maharaj on his birth anniversary.”
Mumbai Metropolitan Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal, MP Rahul Shewale, and Shiv Sena workers joined the ceremony. Former MLA Tukaram Kate thanked CM Shinde for his contributions.
