Five individuals experienced severe health complications after consuming mouth freshener at Laforestta Cafe in Gurugram’s Sector 90 on March 2. Ankit Kumar, accompanied by his wife and friends, recorded distressing scenes inside the cafe, showing his companions in agony and vomiting blood.
In the video, screams and cries of discomfort can be heard as one person vomits on the floor while another desperately tries to alleviate the burning sensation by applying ice. Mr. Kumar expressed concern over the contents of the mouth freshener, suspecting it to be laced with acid, as indicated by a doctor’s assessment.
Mr. Kumar filed a police complaint, revealing that a doctor identified the substance as dry ice, warning of its potentially fatal consequences. The victims initially experienced mouth burns, followed by vomiting, even after attempting to rinse their mouths with water.
Hospitalized promptly, all five individuals received medical attention, with two reported to be in critical condition. Law enforcement authorities have initiated an investigation, registering a case against the cafe’s owner in response to the victims’ allegations.
