On Tuesday, Haryana’s Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, paid a visit to the family of a young man who tragically lost his life during a violent incident in Nuh district on July 31. The Chief Minister made his way to the residence of the deceased individual, Abhishek, earlier in the day.
The violence in Nuh erupted following clashes between two groups on July 31. The initial spark for this unrest occurred when a religious procession passing through the district was attacked. Tragically, this confrontation resulted in the loss of six lives, including two Home Guards, and left approximately 20 police officers injured amid the chaos and violence that ensued.
Haryana’s Home Minister, Anil Vij, previously asserted that preliminary investigations had indicated the possible involvement of the opposition party, Congress, in the clashes that transpired in Nuh and its surrounding areas. Addressing a press conference on August 29, Minister Vij disclosed that to date, 510 individuals had been arrested, and 130-140 FIRs (First Information Reports) had been registered in connection with the case. Furthermore, he alleged that there was evidence implicating Congress MLA Mamman Khan, suggesting his presence in the areas where the violent incidents unfolded.
“In the initial investigation, we have arrested approximately 510 people and we have registered 130-140 FIRs. After their interrogation, the conclusion that we are getting for now is that it looks like this has been done by Congress. In this Congress’s MLA Mamman Khan has also been called for interrogation by police on August 30,” Vij said.
