The break is scheduled to commence from January 1 to January 15, 2024, with schools set to reopen on January 16, according to an official circular issued by the state administration. The decision aims to ensure the safety and well-being of students amidst the expected severe cold conditions.
The Haryana Chief Minister’s office shared the information on its official Twitter handle, emphasizing the government’s proactive approach to the increasing cold. The circular directed all District Education Officers, District Elementary Education Officers, and principals to adhere to the guidelines provided by the Haryana Government during this period.
As per the India Meteorological Department’s recent observations, minimum temperatures ranged from 4-8°C across most parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi.
