Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the Ganga Aarti ceremony in Rishikesh on Saturday. The spiritual event took place at the Parmarth Niketan Ashram and saw the presence of notable figures such as Yoga Guru Ramdev and former Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Earlier in the day, Shah attended the concluding session of the Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit 2023 at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun. During his address, Shah announced that agreements exceeding Rs 3.5 lakh crore had been signed at the summit, surpassing the initial target of Rs 2 lakh crore. He emphasized that this event marked not only the celebration of Destination Uttarakhand but also the initiation of various transformative initiatives.

Shah expressed confidence that Uttarakhand would serve as a global example of eco-friendly industrial development. He reiterated Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision that this decade would be dedicated to the progress of Uttarakhand.

Highlighting the unique combination of development and spiritual significance in Uttarakhand, Shah commended Chief Minister Dhami for the successful evacuation of 41 workers from the Silkyara tunnel. He credited the Prime Minister and central agencies for their guidance and monitoring during the challenging 17-day-long rescue operation, praising Chief Minister Dhami and the state government for their commendable efforts.
