IMD Issues Fog Alert in 5 States including MP and WB

In a recent announcement, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fog alert for isolated areas spanning five states on December 10 and 11. The affected regions include north Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya, where dense fog during morning hours is expected to cause visibility issues.

Furthermore, the IMD has forecasted the arrival of a fresh feeble Western disturbance, set to influence the Western Himalayan Region starting from December 11. This development raises anticipation for various weather conditions, with the likelihood of hailstorms in isolated places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on December 12, as mentioned in the IMD statement.

Meanwhile, a significant update from the weather department indicates that the cyclonic circulation formerly known as Michaung, which wreaked havoc in the states of Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh in the past few days, has now weakened. The system has transformed into a low-pressure area in Jharkhand, causing light to moderate rainfall across the state in short spells, according to AE Kujur, a meteorologist from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Ranchi.

Residents and authorities in the affected regions are advised to stay informed about the evolving weather conditions and take necessary precautions. The IMD continues to closely monitor the situation and provide regular updates to ensure the safety of the public.

As the country braces for these diverse weather phenomena, it underscores the importance of preparedness and vigilance in the face of changing climatic patterns.
