In Manipur, Rahul Gandhi highlights a significant era of injustice prevailing in India

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi declared on Sunday that the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, initiated by his party, aims to address the prevailing injustice faced by the people in India. Launching the yatra from Thoubal in Manipur, he emphasized the multifaceted nature of this injustice, spanning social, political, and economic realms.

Critiquing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not visiting Manipur amid ethnic strife, Rahul Gandhi expressed dismay, deeming it “shameful” that the leader of the country had not offered solace to the affected populace. Reflecting on his recent visit, he described witnessing a collapse in governance infrastructure, division, and widespread suffering, asserting that the state had lost its essence due to BJP politics.

Promising to restore Manipur’s lost harmony and peace, Rahul Gandhi conveyed the Congress party’s commitment to understanding and addressing the grievances of the people. He attributed the state’s predicament to the ‘hatred’ propagated by the BJP and RSS, suggesting that Manipur symbolized the ideologies of these political entities.

Launching the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ from Manipur, Rahul Gandhi, along with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and other leaders, embarked on a 6,713 km journey covering 100 Lok Sabha constituencies, 337 assembly segments, and 110 districts, concluding in Mumbai on March 20 after 67 days. This second large-scale outreach follows the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ where Rahul Gandhi covered over 3,000 km on foot from Kanya Kumari to Srinagar. Termed ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra 2.0,’ this campaign adopts a hybrid approach due to the impending general elections, with Rahul Gandhi explaining that walking would consume more time.

During the yatra launch, Rahul Gandhi engaged in a heartening interaction with children, underscoring the human connection and relatability of the campaign.
