Income Tax raids in Jharkhand’s Odisha and Boudh Distilleries

The Income Tax Department ordered additional machines to count the enormous amounts of cash recovered during its raids at the Boudh Distilleries Private Limited on Thursday in Odisha and Jharkhand.
According to Income Tax sources, the raids were carried out in Ranchi and Lohardaga in Jharkhand, and Bolangir and Sambalpur in Odisha.

Up until yesterday, the counting of notes up to Rs 50 crore was finished, but the machines stopped operating because the amount of notes is so large, they said.
On Tuesday, a substantial quantity of cash was taken from the company’s associated location.
According to sources, even though 50 crore rupees had been counted as of Tuesday, there is still a lot more cash.

There’s so much cash that the machines overheated and stopped working on Tuesday; consequently, more counting machines had to be ordered.
Sources claim that since the banks in the locations where the raids are taking place are not set up to hold this much cash in one location, plans are being made to keep the money by getting in touch with larger banks.
After money is found through income tax searches, government banks receive the recovered funds.
